A Season Start to Remember

The Bike Team Solothurn kicked off the new season with strong performances. Luca and Fabio made another statement at the World Cup in Brazil.

After the form test before departing to Brazil, with Luca's second place at the Hors class race in Nals and Fabio's third place, the two traveled confidently to Brazil for the first World Cup of the season. A slight setback, Luca struggled with the flu before the first of the two races and decided not to start. Fabio, on the other hand, rode confidently and achieved his best World Cup result with 43rd place.

The next stop a week later in Araxà, about 8 hours by car from the first venue, presented a technical track with many jumps. Our boys felt comfortable, and despite the handicap of high start numbers, they were advancing from the beginning. Luca, with start number 82, was unstoppable, overtaking rider after rider, not even stopping for big names. Sensationally, he landed in 19th place, making him the third best Swiss rider. Behind him, Fabio was also on the rise, surpassing his previous best result from the week before with 34th place.

While Nick prepared for the upcoming races and the European World Cups in his homeland, Fiona had to recover from her crash at Tamaro. But now we can give the all-clear; she will be back on the starting line shortly.

The upcoming stops for the bike team are:

  • April 28, 2024: Argovia Cup Lostorf (Fiona/Nick)

  • May 5, 2024: ÖKK Bike Revolution Chur (all)

  • May 19, 2024: Haiming AT

  • May 26, 2024: Nove Mesto CZ World Cup

  • June 2, 2024: ÖKK Bike Revolution Engelberg

A big thank you to everyone who supports our project. We are on our way!
