Auf zu neuen Ufern
Vier Jahre ist es her seit das Bike Team Solothurn aus der Taufe gehoben wurde. Als zartes Pflänzchen geboren, gedieh das Team zu einem international beachteten Spitzen Nachwuchsteam. Viele tolle Erfolge wurden eingefahren, mit dem «harten Kern» Vital Albin, Ursin Spescha und Nick Burki rockten die Jungs zuerst die Juniorenkategorien und profilierten sich auch bereits im starken, internationalen Feld der U23 Kategorie. Unvergessen bleiben der dreifache Sieg an der Junioren SM, der Vize EM und WM Titel von Vital und dem vierten Rang von Nick an der EM 2016, darauf folgten viele weitere Highlights.
Nach bestandener Matur von Vital und erfolgreichem Lehrabschluss von Ursin verfolgen die beiden ihren Traum und machen ihre Leidenschaft zum Beruf. Die Ausganslage ist geschaffen, voll motiviert können sie im Profiteam von Ralph Näf einen weiteren Schritt vorwärts machen.
Ein Abschied ist auch immer ein Neuanfang. Mit Nick Burki verbleibt ein Fahrer im Team. Nick wird im nächsten Jahr seine Matura abschliessen und zusammen mit den «jungen Wilden» die neue Formation bilden.
Aus dem Nachwuchsteam vom Tropical MTB Racing Team stossen die Fahrer Tim Kluser, Robin Kull, Luke Wiedmann und Elia Nascarella dazu. Sie alle stehen in der Juniorenkategorie am Start. Tim und Robin sammelten bereits erste Erfahrung in dieser Altersklasse, mit Luke stösst der U17 Vize Europameister des letzten Jahres dazu. Wir dürfen gespannt sein auf ihren Auftritt.
Einen weiteren Abgang betrifft unseren Teammanager. Roli Richner wird das Team verlassen, steht unseren Athleten aber weiterhin mit Rat und Trainingsplanung zur Verfügung. Roli hat mit seinem enormen Wissen und grossem Einsatz das Bike Team Solothurn geprägt, die Jungs vorwärtsgebracht und ihnen den Weg aufgezeigt. Wir danken Roli für seinen unermüdlichen Einsatz für unser Solothurner Nachwuchsprojekt. Wir sind dankbar, dass wir weiterhin auf die Unterstützung der Sports Academy Solothurn zählen dürfen, sie hilft uns weiter unsere Ziele zu erreichen.
Während die Jungs ihr Winterprogramm abspulen, werden wir ihnen in den nächsten Wochen unser Fahrer vorstellen.

On to new shores
It was four years ago when the Bike Team Solothurn was founded. Born as a delicate flower, the team thrived to become an internationally acclaimed top junior team. Many great successes were achieved with our three musketeers: Vital Albin, Ursin Spescha and Nick Burki. First they rocked the junior categories, and later established themselves in the strong, international field U23. The triple victory at the junior Swiss championships, the vice European championship and the world championship title of Vital and the fourth rank of Nick at the European championships 2016 remain unforgettable, followed by many other highlights.
Passion turns into profession for Vital after graduating from the cantonal school Solothurn. The same for Ursin with the successful completing of his apprenticeship. The two pursue their dream now full time in Ralph Näf`s professional team.
A good bye is also a new beginning. With Nick Burki one original rider remains in the team. He will graduate from the cantonal school next year and for the new formation of the team with the «young wild ones».
The youngsters Tim Kluser, Robin Kull, Luke Wiedmann and Elia Nascarella of the Tropical MTB Racing team will join the Bike Team Solothurn now. They start all in the junior category upcoming season. Tim and Robin already gained first experiences in this age group. With Luke the U17 vice European champion of last year joins. We shall look forward to their performance.
An other departure concerns our team manager. Roli Richner leaves the team, will however continue to advice our athletes and write training plans. With his extensive knowledge and dedication Roli has shaped the Bike Team Solothurn, brought the boys forward and showed them the way. We would like to thank Roli for his untiring commitment to our Solothurn sports project for young talents. We are grateful to count continuously on the support of the Sports Academy Solothurn, who helps us to achieve future goals.
While the boys are on their winter program, we will introduce you to our compassionate new athletes.
